You Only Live Twice

With 30 days or so to go, it's time to get this blog started.

I'm thinking of a song to explain what I'm feeling and why I'm heading back. I've always been fascinated by the lyrics from the Bond movie "You Only Live Twice". The theme song sets a mystical image of alternate possibilities to one's journey in life. The music itself has a haunting sound to it.

You only live twice or so it seems,
One life for yourself and one for your dreams.

You drift through the years and life seems tame
Till one dream appears and love is its name.

And love is a stranger who'll beckon you on.
Don't think of the danger or the stranger is gone.

This dream is for you, so pay the price;
Make one dream come true, you only live twice.

This is the best version of a video that I could find.
You Only Live Twice (sung by Nancy Sinatra)

When I left for my first leg in April 2014, I did not know what I would be like when I returned to the states.  I think that the lyrics to that song pretty accurately sum up the changes that I went thru out there on the El Camino.

So one of the things that I often consider as I prepare for my October return to leg 2 is what will happen to me this time and how I will differ as a person when I come back again?
